New for 2022, Vaughn Custom Sports has introduced their brand new evolution of the Ventus line. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Pro Carbon Senior Goalie Blocker continues to be one of the lightest on the market, and one of the lightest that Vaughn has to offer.
Immediately out of the box your eyes are drawn to the graphic, which is designed as a series of long color zones from the bottom outside of the blocker, moving to the inside before shooting back towards the outside of the blocker and finally moving back towards the center at the top of the blocker, creating a wide look for the blocker.
Starting at the front of the blocker, an extra stiff high density foam insert with composite reinforcement makes for an incredibly stiff blocker and better puck deflection. The front surface is secured to the blocker with laces to allow for more precise puck control. The angled top section allows for better control on puck deflections.
Moving to the backhand, the flex cuff returns for added rotation for quality projection angles along with an adjustable wrist strap for a customized fit
The palm is a VX suede palm with an antimicrobial grip overlay to help prevent bacterial growth. On the index finger, the inner seam has been removed to not only create a more comfortable feel, but also to provide durability. Finally separate main and index finger guards provide maximum coverage and flexibility, while 3mm carbon inserts coupled with HD inserts on finger guard end pads provide protection from all angles for fingers.
The thumb of the SLR3 Pro Carbon includes a high-density HD foam side shield board for added stiffness and protection, as well as overlapping with the front board to create an overall stiffer construction.
In comparison to the Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Pro Senior blocker, the SLR3 Pro Carbon Senior features a domestic build with carbon and higher quality construction.
