Brand new for 2020, Warrior Goalie has unleashed their fifth iteration of the Ritual line. Building off the successful previous G3 and G4 lines, the G5 is an all new beast that we think every goalie should check out. The Warrior Ritual G5 Pro Senior Goalie Blocker is incredibly light and specifically designed for the goaltender to get the most out of their equipment.

Starting off with the biggest change from the G4 to the G5 is CoverEDGE+. CoverEDGE+ is an easy concept to understand with little explanation needed. This brand-new feature applies a face-forward design that adds a new dimension to maximizing your coverage in the net. By bringing the face of each piece of the G5 gear forward, the angle to the puck is further cut down, allowing you to get a piece of pucks that would just miss more conventionally designed gear.

Most noticeably on the Ritual G5 Pro Blocker is the redesigned board shape. The purpose of the redesign is to increase rebounds speeds off the blocker to get pucks into corners quicker and more predictably. The blocker board faces more forward with CoverEDGE+ and has less of a curve to elongate the G5 blocker and maximize coverage toward the bottom edge. The entire face of the blocker features HyperComp that adds rigidity and increases the longevity of the blocker face.

Flipping around, the palm of the Ritual G5 Pro is fully removable and can be adjust to a High, Medium, or Low setting or completely replaced with an Intermediate, Medium, Large or XL liner. Stock, the G5 Pro Senior comes with a Senior Large removable palm. Every piece stemming off the blocker palm is highly adjustable with many attachment points for the goaltender to find the exact fit and feel they want out of the G5. Internally, the backhand foam is tapered down toward the fingers of the blocker to help angle to nose down and create a more natural hand position for the goaltender to easily reach toward pucks and present the blocker to the shooter.

Finally, on the side of the G5 blocker, you will find an adjustable contoured thumb and finger protection. This is reinforced with HyperComp for added protection to these small key areas. A side index finger pad can be adjusted and or removed for the goaltenders’ comfort and protection. The thumb piece itself can be angled in different ways and adjusted to be more comfortable on the goaltenders’ hand if desired.

Around the entire perimeter of the blocker, you will find Warrior’s clean construction which is essentially a bindingless style perimeter to help prevent any premature wear.
